Health professionals now responsible for advising the public on the safety of wireless technologies.
Some might be aware that ARPANSA Australian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) our governing body responsible for setting exposure standards for has recently changed their disclaimer to state that "Nothing contained in this site is intended to be used as medical advice and it is not intended to be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, nor should it be used for therapeutic purposes or as a substitute for your own health professional's advice. " https://www.arpansa.gov.au/about-us/disclaimer
So how has this come about?
Well, as many scientists and health professionals come forward with concerns around the safety of our current electropollution exposure, papers such as the Bioinitiative Report of 2012 (containing 1800 peer reviewed studies - https://bioinitiative.org/) are being constantly circulated and taken notice of, the WHO is being pressured to change their classification of radiofrequency electromagnetic fields from category 2B, possibly carcinogenic to 2A and the emerging number of people experiencing health issues related to exposure to name just a few prompts concerns around exposure and safety is beginning to take centre stage.
As the Telcos begin their roll out of 5G - Fifth Generation Technology, insurance giants such as LLoyds of London have pulled back on insuring these companies against possible public litigation meaning that backlash may fall on those setting the standards.
ARPANSA set their standards on the information provided by International Commission on Non Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) who openly claim that their standards are NOT health based.
So where does this leave the public and health professionals? In a very sticky situation. It is now the publics responsibility to find a practitioner who can provide advice as to the safety of this type of radiation and the health professionals to understand the exposures well enough to provide educated and well informed advice.
With many looking to seek medical advice on the safety of the 5G roll out I encourage health practitioners to consider the points made by Dr Russell Cooper in my previous blog, consider the works of people like Dr Devra Davis, read the findings of the Bioinitiative Report 2012 and consider the health based standards set by Building Biologists.
